More about the Smart EQ fortwo (2018)

Overview

The Smart EQ fortwo is the full battery electric version of smart's close relative city car, and it's electric demeanour only serves to make it cooler. However relatively modest range and no rapid charging keep it fairly confined to the urban environment.

The 7kW on-board charger comes as standard, but a 22kW on-board charger is optionally available that will enable you to charge in around an hour.

The two EQ fortwo models – coupe and cabrio – will complete around 100 miles with a single charge according to official figures. The Smart fortwo EQ is rechargeable in around 2.5 hours from a home 7kW EV charger.

Charging rates shown are typically from 0-80% this is due to decreasing charging rates after 80% set by the vehicle to preserve battery life and efficiency.
