Overview
The BMW i4 eDrive40 compacts a whopping 83.9kWh lithium-ion battery comfortably under it's floorspace. The BMW range is simple in effect, the rear-wheel-drive offers the single motor eDrive40.
This produces 335bhp and shoots from 0-62 mph in 5.7 seconds. The official range is around 367 miles. While figures show that the eDrive40 is a little slower than the Tesla Model 3 Long Range it can however can go a bit further on a charge.
Lastly there is the four-wheel-drive, dual-motor M50 model with it's 536bhp, 3.9 seconds 0-62mph time, and 318-mile range respectively. The BMW i4 eDrive40 is rechargeable in around 12 hours from a home 7kW charger.
Charging rates shown are typically from 0-80% this is due to decreasing charging rates after 80% set by the vehicle to preserve battery life and efficiency.
