The Volkswagen Touareg e-Hybrid R surprisingly shares a 456bhp powertrain with Bentley Bentayga Hybrid. The Touareg R is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine, a 134bhp electric motor and a 17.9kWh lithium-ion battery.

The CO2 output is at 67g/km and 94.2 mpg that's much better than the Bentley that manages 80.7mpg. You can drive at around 87 mph on electric power purely and the Touareg R has an electric-only range of 28 miles respectively.

The VW will always start in it's 'E-MODE' setting to allow for maximum efficiency. The Volkswagen Touareg e-Hybrid is rechargeable in around 2.5 hours from a home 7kW charger.
