Ford brings it's Transit Custom Plug-in Hybrid Electric van, offering a "Range Extender", meaning it's small engine never drives the wheels, when you have exceeded it's ~30 mile range that engine works as a generator to keep the battery live.
Ford are clearly aiming this at those who are unsure about full electrification, but keen to operate on electric mode in urban centres (and ULEV zones).
The van it'self is broadly the same as the ICE Ford Custom model - ultra practical, capable, pleasant to drive. The Ford Transit Custom Plug-In electric is rechargeable in around 2 hours from a home 7kW charger.
Charging rates shown are typically from 0-80% this is due to decreasing charging rates after 80% set by the vehicle to preserve battery life and efficiency.
